FELA has developed a highly innovative online financial education and wellness application that brings incredible value to the advancement of financial education - whether through government agency partners, schools, businesses, community organizations, or at home. Traditionally, financial education has been delivered through presentations, workshops, or seminars that last an hour or two. However, this one-size-fits-all approach has limitations: 1. It is very difficult to evaluate what participants know going into those sessions - therefore it is difficult to assess what they have learned after they leave; 2. In person workshops or one-on-one consultations are essential to the learning process, but this model is not scalable - it is difficult to reach everyone in need this way; and 3. Financial education needs to be viewed as an ongoing, lifelong process that cannot be replicated in a one-hour class.
Our online financial wellness solution is a great complement and supplement to existing financial education initiatives. The application enables us to evaluate an individual's interests, needs, and goals and provide them with a customized Wellness Plan. Furthermore, each user can track their performance and evaluate their overall financial health with the Financial Wellness Score. Throughout the process, users are earning 'reward points' which can be redeemed in the Rewards Centers. The rewards provide the much needed motivation and incentives for each individual to commit to improving their financial health.
